A theatre work by young people that mixes live performance, shadow puppetry and cartoon animation to consider the role of the imagination in dealing with real world obstacles

With the same personalities as the young people who created them, 21 unique creatures live across 5 different worlds, appearing as shadows and cartoons before taking human form. Unaware of what lies beyond their own backyards, they live happily in separate neighbourhoods… until things change forever. Forced to flee, the creatures start a journey that bring them closer together the further they move away. Where are they headed? Nobody knows… but their shadows lead the way!

Chasing Your Shadow was the third consecutive Junior Ensemble project led by Chris and Natalie Rose at Shopfront Arts Co-Op (with Valerie Berry also co-facilitating). It was developed and first presented in 2015, before being remounted for the Way out West Festival for Children at Casula Powerhouse in July 2016.
